How to Clean Shower Tiles

Wondering how to clean shower tiles? While the process is simple, you need to understand which products and methods are suitable for cleaning. Read the article to learn about the procedures you can implement.

Clean without Scrubbing

To start your cleaning, it’s always better to give a shot to mild products. Later, if you need, you can use stronger solutions. Additionally, remember to wear gloves and promote ventilation in the bathroom when using products.  Both of these precautions help avoid accidents.

Make sure to test whatever you pick before using it. Pick the areas like behind the toilet where you can afford any harm. Choose cleaning products that don’t require scrubbing.

Clean with Vinegar

You need to take an equal part of warm water and white vinegar. Fill it up in a spray bottle and spray this on the shower tile. Avoid using vinegar of stone or travertine. Bring old towels and spread them on the floor so that solutions get on them instead of the floor. Let it be for few minutes. Then, scrub the tile with a stiff brush. Yes, you can use old toothbrushes, but they are not as effective. Even if you use them with all of your strengths, it can still leave dirt.

If your tiles have been dirty for long, mix a cup of warm water, a teaspoon of dishwashing soap (vegetable-based), and two cups of white vinegar. Spray this solution and wait for 15 minutes. Use a sponge to scrub them.

Clean Tile Grout

While looking up ways to clean shower tiles, you probably came across a cleaning method for grout. After trying white vinegar, if your grout is still dirty, use a mixture of warm water and vinegar. Apply this paste of grout and spray the vinegar and water mixture mentioned above. You will see that foam starts to form. Leave it to set and clean it with a stiff brush.

You can also apply hydrogen peroxide to the grout. Spraying it is much better, so fill it in a spray bottle. Or make a paste baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Apply it and then scrub.

Clean with Bleach or Bleach Products

You can use oxygen bleach when the stains are worse. To make a paste, mix one part of water and two parts of oxygen bleach. Let it be for 10 to 15 minutes. Clean it afterward with water or a sponge.

If the grout is extremely dirty, you can go for cleansers that have chlorine bleach or just simply chlorine bleach. Before using any of them, clean the grout from water to ensure you remove all the substances.

Clean with a Steam Cleaner

If you are looking for an environmentally friendly method, then a grout cleaning nozzle with a scrub brush is best for you.  Pick the one with a nylon scrub brush that is safe for tiles and grout. Before starting the process, sponge cleans the shower tiles using detergent.

Moreover, purchase a steam cleaner that works well on walls, as most of them are for floor tiles. Follow the direction mentioned on the product to clean the tile.
